  • Does my application absolutely need a letter of support from the Governor?

Yes, every application requires a letter of support from the Governor.

  • We got a letter from the Governor last year; do we need to get an updated letter?

Yes, all new applications need an updated letter.

  • We are working with multiple Pueblos on our project, do we need a letter of support from each Governor?

Yes, we must receive a letter of support from each Governor.

  • Do you accept unsolicited proposals?

No, we do not. Please submit proposals during our regular granting cycles.

  • How long do we have to complete our project?

You have one year to complete your project. Extension will be granted only for unforeseeable and unavoidable circumstances.

  • Do you fund individuals? No, we do not fund individuals.

 

  • If I apply, on behalf of an organization or program, and we are awarded, can you send the check directly to me? No, we cannot, you will have to find a fiscal sponsor or work with Pueblo leadership to determine how funding can be disbursed for your project.

 

  • Do you fund projects that have a digital media or technology component?  Yes, but please consider the following questions:
    • Does the project respect user privacy and community data protection?
    • Does the project promote fairness and equality?
    • Does the project avoid harm to individuals or the community?
    • Does the project align with relevant tribal laws and regulations?
    • Does the project promote transparency and accountability?
    • Does the project consider community engagement in the decision-making process for the use of technology?
    • Does the project safeguard sensitive cultural information?
    • Does the project protect intellectual cultural property?
